"India should understand when the people have made their minds, even weapons can't block their path"

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday stated that the violation of human rights in Kashmir had a historical background, further adding that the matter had become an issue of global concern. He said that the matter can be raised at the United Nations Organisation (UNO) and other forums, reported Dunya News.

PM Nawaz expressed his anger over the violation of human rights in the occupied valley and stated that cases of misbehaving with women along with making children blind were being reported from Kashmir. He stated that Indian atrocities in Kashmir had caused great disturbance to people around the world.

Prime Minister Nawaz stated that no state should be allowed to curtail fundamental human rights, adding that regulations cannot be destroyed using the name of state benefit or state strategy. “India approached the UN itself and promised to give the right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir,” stated the PM.

The country’s premier said that Kashmir was declared as a disputed territory by the United Nations, adding that it cannot be considered as India’s internal matter. PM Nawaz said that India promised that it shall make arrangements for carrying out referendum in Kashmir whereas India claiming the Kashmir issue to be its internal matter was absurd.

Prime Minister said that Kashmiris were linked with the people of Pakistan through the bonds of religion, culture and blood, further stating that Pakistan shall always stand by its Kashmiri brothers in the hour of trial and shall never abandon them. “The case of Kashmiris shall be fought on all diplomatic, political and humanitarian grounds,” said PM Nawaz.

He stated that every individual in Pakistan was tied in a bond of love with the Kashmiris and on the basis of this very relation, the people of Pakistan were observing the Condemnation day. He said that the entire Pakistani nation protested against Indian atrocities whilst staying united, further stating that India had angered three generations of Kashmiris through its hostilities.

PM Nawaz said that India needs to decide whether it intends to continue painting its hands with the blood of Kashmiris or aims to give the people of Kashmir the right of self-determination.

Prime Minister stated that the current generation of Kashmiris was using social media as a weapon, adding that locks can now not be placed on the minds of the people nor can their voices be silenced. “India needs to understand that when the people have made their minds, even weapons cannot block their paths,” said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
