TTP commander killed in in Battagram police shootout

BATTAGRAM (Dunya News) – Head of Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) Shangla and Torghar Hafiz Nisar was killed on Sunday in police shootout in Battagram.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Battagram Raja Abdul Saboor, the killed commander alongwith his companion Sayab Galla attacked Thakot Aman checkpost last evening which injured one policeman and killed the other.

Police followed the terrorists after the attack as a result of which Nisar was killed and Sayab sustained injuries.

Nisar had a head money of Rs10 lac.

Police recovered one hand-grenade, Kalashnikov, pistol, mobile phones and identity cards from the possession of both the terrorists.

According to DPO Battagram, Hafiz Nisar was a dangerous terrorist.

He cut the hands of six policemen after attacking Mangri police checkpost in Torghar district in 2014 and killed Military Intelligence (MI) official in Ogi in 2015.

He was also involved in various terror activities in Battagram and Mansehra.
