Security tightened across Pakistan for Jumatul Wida

Security has been extended while dividing the mosques in three categories.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Security has been tightened across the country on the occasion of Jumatul Wida.

In Lahore, large gatherings of Friday prayers will be held at Data Darbar, Badshahi Mosque, Jamia Naeemia, Grand Jamia Mosque in Bahria Town, Shuhada Mosque and Jamia Ashrafia.

Security has been extended while dividing the mosques in three categories.

The 167 mosques included in A-category have been declared as sensitive whereas 767 mosques have been placed in B and C category.

More than 4200 police officials have been deployed for safekeeping the mosques.

Police has stated that patrolling has been increased in the metropolis while installing checkpoints at important points.

Foolproof security arrangements have been made and additional contingent of police has been deployed outside mosques in Balochistan including Quetta.

Strict safety measures have been devised on all the entry and exit points of the province.

Additional police and Frontier Constabularly (FC) officials have been positioned outside mosques, imambargahs and madrassas.

A ban has been imposed on pillion riding and weapons exhibition under section-144.

Special provisions for Jumatul Wida have also been finalized in the mosques. Ulema will shed light on the importance of Jumatul Wida in their sermons and will pray for the stability and security of the country.

Moreover, a rally has also been arranged in accordance with Youm-ul-Quds for which security is high alert at the relevant routes.

In Karachi, police has been positioned outside the Jamia mosque.

Sindh Home Minister has issued orders to security agencies to remain high alert across the province.

He has also directed Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Additional IGs and Deputy Inspector General (DIGs) to plan effective security measures and ensure their implementation at Taraweeh and Iftar time.
