85 out-of-turn promoted police officers downgraded to ranks of OSD on orders of Punjab IGP

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A delegation of out-of-turn promoted officers of the Punjab police decided to meet Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif after they 85 of such officers were downgraded to the ranks of Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) by Inspector General Police (IGP) Mushtaq Sukhera, reported Dunya News.

The officers stated that the out-of-turn promotion issue was being heard in the Supreme Court (SC), further stating that Punjab IG’s decision to downgrade the officers was not a right judgment.

A five member delegation of the affected officers met with Punjab IG in the Central Police Office. The officers placed their arguments before Sukhera, which also involved the decision to met Punjab CM to discuss the issue.

The next meeting of the affected officers shall be held on July 29 at the Lahore Fort. Strategy to be adopted in future shall be discussed in the next meeting.
