SC issues notice to Attorney General for re-including Ayyan's name in ECL

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to Attorney General over re-including model Ayyan Ali’s name in Exit Control List (ECL).

Ayyan on Monday expressed resentment over including her name in ECL again and demanded SC to take action in this regard.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed while reacting angrily to the move questioned that is Ayyan a terrorist.

He asked that whether the names of all murder suspects and FBR defaulters in Punjab have been included in ECL.

He said that everyone is aware of the situation and it wouldn’t be wrong if interior secretary is sent to jail in this regard.

The judge said that the court knows how to enforce orders however; they will not keep silence if the implementation is not done.

The court while adjourning the hearing till next week issued notice to Attorney General.

Earlier, Ayyan Ali was restricted by the immigration officials from proceeding with boarding on the plane at Karachi airport and was not allowed to leave the country after her boarding pass was cancelled by the authorities.

Immigration officials stated that they cannot allow the model to leave the country until they get permission from Islamabad.
