Afzal Khan's allegations against Riaz Kayani, Iftikhar Chaudhary part of conspiracy: Danial Aziz

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Danial Aziz and Tariq Fazal Chaudhary lambasted the party’s political adversaries while addressing a press conference on Saturday. They stated that the accusation of stealing the elections was a conspiracy held in the past against the party and that the sit-in organised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was against national development not the government, reported Dunya News.

Danial Aziz said that the accusations leveled by former Additional Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Afzal Khan against ECP member Justice Riaz Kayani and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhary were nothing more than a conspiracy to destroy the government’s mandate. He accused that PTI’s sit-in was not against rigging in the general elections but was targeted towards the country’s development and to place hurdles in the Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan.

He further stated that PTI Chairman Imran Khan himself said that the allegation of ’35 punctures’ was a political statement. “Imran Khan made the conspiracy of the sit-in to create unrest in the mindsets of the people”, Danial said, adding that the attack on the Prime Minister (PM) House proved that the sit-in was organised to hamper national prosperity.

While conversing with the journalists, Tariq Fazal said that efforts were made in the past to overrun the capital by leveling accusations of rigging resulting in the country’s development getting dragged backwards. He added that attempts are being made to repeat the entire scenario and to push the country and the government backwards by using the cover of the Panama Leaks issue.
