ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A plea against the demand of arbitrary Hajj charges by the private tour operators was filed in the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday.

The plea, filed by a civilian Afzal Khan, has made Law Ministry as a party.

The petitioner has adopted the stance that he submitted expenses of himself and his wife for Hajj through government however; his Hajj request was rejected.

It has also been said in the plea that the government has left the people on the mercy of the tour operators after allotting them with 50 percent quota.

The petitioner has blamed the private tour operators of charging Rs4,50,000 for the Hajj package which is twice the amount of government Hajj scheme.

The plea suggested that private tour operators are earning profit by playing with the feelings of the people.

The petitioner has demanded SC that private tour operators should be barred from charging more than the government expense which is Rs2,70,000 and should also not be allotted quota in the future.
