Khushdil Khan takes to streets after attack on apartment
ANP leader says attack carried out by extortionists
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – An attack was carried out on the apartment of Awami National Party (ANP) leader and former Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Khushdil Khan in Budh Bher. Infuriated over the incident, Khan took to the streets with arms, reported Dunya News on Tuesday.
Khushdil Khan along with his aides started to patrol the area that created fear in the local population. Khan stated that his hujra was attacked by extortionists. Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations Abbas Majeed appealed Khan to put down his arms after he was informed of the latter patrolling in the streets. Furthermore, he assured Khan that the culprits shall soon be apprehended whilst demanding a report based on the police s biased attitude regarding the incident.
Budha Bher and Matni, located near semi-tribal area Dara Adam Khel, have been previously attacked by terrorists. However, the law and order situation in the area did improve in recent past but the current unfortunate event has once again raised tensions there.
