Punjab govt drafts Rs 450 billion development budget

More than Rs 70 billion will be spent for 142 new projects in the province

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab govt continues to draft budget 2016-17 while building of roads has been prioritised with allocation of Rs 70 billion in the recommended development budget while Rs 50 billion has been suggested for allocation of Farmer’s Package, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

Rs 42 billion has been suggested for education sector which includes Rs 6 billion for Laptop Scheme while Rs 26 billion has been suggested for development and development sector. 

Rs 30 billion has been suggested for Chief Minister’s (CM) Subaidari Funds. Rs 18 billion for energy sector, Rs 40 billion for irrigation, Rs 12 billion for agriculture sector, Rs 16 billion for urban development and Rs 32 billion has been allocated for transport.

Rs 30 billion for clean water, Rs 13 billion for Punjab Police Command and Control Center while Rs 10 million will be spent for Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute. More than Rs 70 billion will be spent for 142 new projects in the province.
