PIA pilots' wages increased provisionally

PIA administration has not increased the pensions of retired employees for the past 5 years

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to increase the wages of its pilots provisionally, reported Dunya News.

According to documents received by Dunya News, the pay of pilots flying Airbus 310 and Airbus 320 has been increased by Rs 1.30 lakhs each, likewise the pay of an Avion de Transport Regional (ATR) pilot has also been increased by Rs 1.07 lakhs whereas that of a Boeing 777 First officer has risen by Rs 1 lakhs.

The wages of Airbus 310 and Airbus 320 First officers have increased by Rs 66 thousand each and that of a First officer catering an ATR plane has risen by Rs 51 thousand.

According to PIA rules and regulations, increase in the salary of the workers will result in equivalent rise in the pension. However, it needs to be kept in mind that PIA administration has not increased the pensions of retired employees for the past 5 years.
