Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif talked to reporters in London before leaving for Pakistan.

LONDON (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that there are no allegations against him in Panama leaks but still the government wants to form a commission to bring forth the truth before the nation, Dunya News reported.

Speaking to reporters in London, Nawaz Sharif said that his medical reports are satisfactory, thus, he will leave for Pakistan today (Tuesday).

He urged the political opponents not to hinder Pakistan’s progress.

“People of Pakistan want peace and progress, not politics of sit-ins,” he added.

To a question, he said that some immature politicians want to revive the same old negative politics which had been buried in the decades of 90s.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that an inquiry commission to probe Panama leaks will be finalized soon. He said that Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan has briefed him about contacts made with judges for formation of the commission.

Sharif has been under pressure since the so-called Panama Papers leak linked his family to a series of offshore companies. The records showed that PM‘s daughter Maryam and sons Hasan and Hussain owned London real estate through offshore companies administered by Mossack Fonseca.

After the Panama leaks scandal erupted, Nawaz Sharif insisted in a televised address to the nation that all of his family businesses were legal. But cricket-star-turned-politician Imran Khan has demanded an unbiased probe into the wealth the Sharif family had amassed.

He has asked the government to set up a commission headed by a serving supreme court judge with experts on white collar crimes as members.

If the government fails to do this, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will march on Sharif‘s palatial farmhouses in the eastern city of Lahore, he warned.
