IMF appreciates govts decision to transform PIA into company

Pakistan has been assigned to privatise 67 national institutions including PIA

KARACHI (Dunya News) – International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief for Pakistan Harald Finger said that IMF has appreciated the approval of bill regarding reestablishment of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) into company, reported Dunya News.

He said that the bill will be reviewed in detail. Improvement in company’s performance without transfer of administration will also be monitored, he added.

National airline loss has crossed the amount of Rs 300 billion. According to IMF’s economic reform program, Pakistan has been assigned to privatise 67 national institutions including PIA.
