The administration had stated that the culprit was suspended with immediate effect

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) administration is likely to carry out second DNA test of the 20-year-old disabled girl who was raped by a male nurse while under treatment in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Dunya News reported Tuesday.

The administration avoided timely medical test of the victimized patient after it learnt about the crime four days ago. The first DNA test could not prove the crime due to the alleged delay while staffers had allegedly replaced bed sheets and other items.

Reportedly, administration of the hospital is colluding with Krishan Kumar, male nurse accused of raping the patient.

Family of the violated girl is not being allowed to approach police in the issue.

Mother of the raped girl had filed a complaint to hospital’s administrator, Fazal Maula which stated that Kumar violated her daughter at around 2am on Saturday night.

On the other hand, the administration had stated that the culprit was suspended with immediate effect and an inquiry would be held.

Capital Administration and Development Division authorities took notice in the matter and ordered stern action against the alleged culprit.

Dr Javed Akram, while talking to the media said that the authorities would pursue service termination of the culprit if inquiry finds him guilty. He vowed to hold a thorough investigation of the incident.
