Shedron company has no links with PPM Nawaz Sharif or his family, says State Bank.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – State Bank of Pakistan Sunday rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s allegations. In a statement issued by the country’s central bank, State Bank says that Khan’s allegations were fabricated and the bank rejects these accusations. The statement also says that the Shedron company which had taken 20 million dollars for Chaudhry Sugar Mill had no links with Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif or his family.

According the statement, Shedron company was formed with the support of Faysal Bank, which it had established to facilitate the transfer of money to Chaudhry Sugar Mill. Faysal Bank had lent 20 million dollars to the Sugar Mill. The statement added that the loan had been returned 15 years ago.

State Bank further clarified the issue saying that PM and his family had no links with the company while bringing money through foreign financers and formation of such companies was a normal affair.

Earlier Deputy Governor State Bank Saeed Ahmad had also rejected Khan’s allegations that Ahmad was made the Deputy Governor State Bank after he helped the PM launder money.

Talking to Dunya News, he said that he has been accused on baseless facts. He challenged the PTI chairman and said that he must show the documents in order to prove the allegations.
