CNG sector expected to get a boost after the historic decision

KARACHI (Dunya News) – According to the Chairman of All-Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Association Ghayas Paracha, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued the licence for a private company operated by CNG pump owners by the name Universal Gas Distribution Company (UGDC) to import CNG, reported Dunya news.

The decision is expected to improve the worsening condition of the CNG sector in Punjab. Paracha said that due to gas shortage, almost 300 pump owners out of the total 2200 have left the CNG sector for good. He further added that an investment of rupees 350 billion was made in the CNG sector in Punjab alone and that the government’s timely decision has saved the industry from running into a massive loss.

Paracha expressed hope that the general public of Punjab will have access to fuel resources at relatively lesser rates after the decision.
