Child labour: LHC issues notices to Punjab govt, Attorney General

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday issued notices to Punjab government and Attorney General over a plea filed for not acting on the laws designated for child labour.

The hearing of the case was conducted by Justice Shujat Ali Khan.

The petitioner said that children are being employed for the Orange Line Metro Train project whereas the government has failed to implement the child labour laws.

The plea also stated that according to employment of children act, children under the age of 14 years cannot be engaged in work.

The court after hearing the arguments issued notices to Punjab government and Attorney General.
