APC underway in Islamabad to address concerns of political parties over CPEC project

Opposition leader Khursheed Shah will not be attending the meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – All Parties Conference (APC) headed by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif is underway in Islamabad.

The meeting has been summoned to address the concerns of all political parties regarding China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has confirmed its participation.

Members of the committee formed in Peshawar’s All Parties Conference (APC) will attend the meeting alongwith Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Awami National Party’s (ANP) Asfand Yar Wali, Pakhtunkhawa Milli Awami Party (PK-MAP) leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Jamaat-e-Islami chief (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq, Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) Pervez Khattak, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Khanzada Khan, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) Ajmal Wazir and Qaumi Watan Party’s (QWP) Aftab Sherpao.

Opposition leader Khursheed Shah will not be attending the meeting. In a talk with Dunya News in the program ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath’, the leader of the opposition stated that he was at the Islamabad airport ready to depart for Karachi when he recieved the invite for the meeting from PM House.

Shah stated that he offered PM House the opinion to arrange the meeting on Monday or Tuesday, to which the government officials informed that PM Nawaz will be leaving for foreign visit due to which the meeting is being held on Friday. The opposition leader expressed that he should have been informed earlier so that he could have attended the meeting.

Shah further added that he has informed allied Awami National Party (ANP) of his inability to attend the meeting and told them that ANP should decide for its participation on its own.
