SHC dismisses bail plea of seven LARP officials

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday dismissed the bail plea of seven officialsof Lines Area Redevelopment Project (LARP).

The hearing of the corruption case was conducted by a two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor told the court that the suspects are accused of china-cutting 1,200 plots worth Rs4.5 billion and selling them to builders and land grabbing mafia.

The plots were sold for bribes instead of being auctioned, he added.

According to sources the money was used for terrorism and financing terrorists.

The court after hearing the argument dismissed the bail plea of seven officials including deputy director Fareed Naseem, additional director Atta Abbas, additional director Rashid Hussain, director Waseem Iqbal and deputy director Shahid Umar.
