LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore along with various parts of Punjab province received first winter rain on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, providing much needed relief from the dry chilly weather. Temperatures dropped even further as the late night showers increased the chill in the air. The dense blanket of fog that had blanketed the city earlier also disappeared due to the drizzle.

People of Punjab have been suffering from cough, cold and sore throat due to the dry and cold weather, however, the first rain of the winter season will provide relief to the patients.

According to the Metrological Department, the minimum temperature in the provincial capital is expected to be 12°C while a maximum temperature of 23°C is expected. Further light drizzles are also expected as the storm clouds loom over the city.

On the other hand, Quetta and Ziarat saw the winter season’s first snowfall as the snow covered hilltops and mountains, much to the delight of its citizens and tourists.

The Metrological Department stated that rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of the country while dry weather to continue elsewhere in the country during the next 24 hours.
