The councilor candidate in Bahawalpur had changed the results' copy, was put behind bars

BAHAWALPUR: (Dunya News) – A councilor candidate in the third phase of local body elections was on Tuesday put behind the bars for forging the election results’ copy, reported Dunya News.

Independent candidate for Councilor in Union Council 18’s Ward No. 8 of Bahawalpur, Muhammad Akmal, had allegedly tried to change the electoral results. In order to turn his defeat into a victory, the candidate was changed the figure ‘115’ with ‘315’.

However, this ‘clever’ move didn’t pay off as the Returning Officer (RO) caught his forgery. The suspect said that he didn’t do any such thing.

According to RO Tasleem Akhtar, the suspect is under arrest and will be put behind the bars.
