ECP takes notice of delay in polling in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday took notice of delayed start of polling at various polling stations in Karachi.

In Karachi’s district east, the voters faced difficulties as the polling staff didn’t arrive on time and were forced to wait in long queues for the start of polling that further irked them.

Dunya News covered the whole incident after which the ECP took notice and summoned report as early as possible.

According to details, as many as four complaints have been received from different districts of Punjab while the administration has got three complaints from Sindh province.

The officials have been directed to take stern action in this regard.

Meanwhile in Karachi’s UC-15, the locals protested against a two-hour delay in polling and demanded action against the polling staff. Media men were also barred from entering the polling station while presiding officer also lashed out on mismanagement in UC-35.

On the other hand, polling is underway in twelve districts of Punjab and six districts of Sindh that will concluded at 5:30 pm.
