Islamabad: Notice issued to Presiding Officer over VIP protocol to Imran
Returning Officer issued notice to Presiding Officer asking why Imran was given VIP protocol
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Returning Officer (RO) of Islamabad’s Union Council (UC) 23 Waqas Rasheed has on Thursday issued notice to Presiding Officer of Mohrra Noor’s Polling Station No. 7 Abdur Rehman over giving VIP protocol to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, reported Dunya News.
According to the notice issued by the RO, Imran Khan came to the polling station with VIP protocol, accompanied by a procession, in order to cast his vote. The notice says that the Presiding Officers had been directed not to let any procession enter the polling station in view of the security threats.
The RO has asked the Presiding Officer to explain why he allowed Imran Khan to enter the polling station along with his supporters.
