Some MPs recommended hiring of foreigners in Nadra: Ch Nisar

Interior Minister said names of the MPs will be tabled before Chairman Senate and NA Speaker.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Friday told the National Assembly that foreigners were hired in the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on the recommendation of some parliamentarians, Dunya News reported.

He said names of the Senators and MNAs will be tabled before Chairman Senate and NA Speaker.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told the House that when he took over the Ministry there was a backlog of five hundred thousand passports which was cleared in two months. He said action is being taken against corrupt people in NADRA and Directorate of Immigration and Passports.

He said services of over two hundred corrupt employees of NADRA have been dismissed during the last one year, adding that one hundred thousand fake ID cards have also been blocked during last year.

The Minister said that 73 new regional passport offices will be established across the country during the next one year to facilitate the people.

He said 13 mega NADRA centers are also being set up in the country where prompt and international standard service will be provided.
