Passport Scandal: Govt employees using private passports for travel
Employees when acquiring the passport conceal the fact that they are government officers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A passport scandal brought to light in the Dunya News program “Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath” revealed that thousands of government employees of both provincial and Federal governments have been illegally using their private passports for travelling to foreign countries, instead of the recommended official passports provided by the government. The unlawful act has also been described as a threat to national security.
The scandalous revelation indicated that the government representatives when acquiring the passport conceal the fact that they are government officers and instead portray themselves as employees of a private organization.
The illicit act exposed during the Dunya News program, revealed that numerous officers of the Sindh government have travelled overseas on these private passports while many more are planning to do so. It was also reported in the program that Manzoor Qadir Sindh, involved in mega corruption case of Building Control Authority, also fled to Canada using the same tactics.
The Dunya News show has brought the prohibited performance to the knowledge of the government saying that illicit act is purposely being concealed from Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhary Nisar.
Guests invited to the program including legal expert Khaled Javed Khan expressed that the movement of government officers on private passports is illegal and unconstitutional.
