Lahore, various cities of Punjab rattled by earthquake once again

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Various cities of Punjab province including Lahore were rattled by earthquake tremors once again on Thursday. The quake hit during the night. According to the Meteorological Department, the magnitude of the jolts was registered as 3.1 on the Richter Scale and the source was stated to be the border area of Atari, 30km from Lahore. Fortunately, no harm of lives or property was reported.

According to the details, the ground shook as the minor tremors terrorized residents at around 9pm. Terrified residents ran out of their homes reciting prayers as horrific memories of the earlier 8.1 severe quake refreshed in the citizens minds.

Tremors were also felt in Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sharakpur, Nankana, Ferozewala, Okara, Hafizabad and surrounding areas.

A severe earthquake on 26th of October in both Pakistan and Afghanistan has left people immensely frightened of the aftershocks. The deadly quack claimed 257 lives in the country and wounded many. Thousands have been left homeless after the natural disaster the relief efforts for which are still ongoing in the country.
