At least 100 aftershocks recorded post Pak-Afghan 8.1 quake
Small magnitude trimmers pose no threat: PMD
SWAT (Dunya News) – Aftershocks of the massive 8.1 October 26 quake have hit 100 on the count on Wednesday.
However, the authorities concerned have said that the aftershocks pose no threat due to minor magnitudes. The trimmers continue to be felt in different areas including Swat, Peshawar and Dir since October 26.

Movement in Tectonic plates cause quakes however, aftershocks come once the plates stop moving and small rocks adjust to the new movement. The small rocks and plates make their place after the fresh adjustment, miles beneath the surface.
The quake was centred near Jurm in northeast Afghanistan, 250 kilometres (160 miles) from the capital Kabul and at a depth of 213.5 kilometres, the US Geological Survey said

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that the aftershocks in different areas pose no threat to the locals as small-magnitude trimmers lessen odds of massive quakes in near future.
Earlier, the climate change department stated that a westerly wave has entered Pakistan on Sunday evening. Under the influence of this weather system rain/thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir and at isolated places of Zhob, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions and Islamabad during Monday to Wednesday. Snowfall is also expected over the hills of Malakand, Hazara divisions, GB and Kashmir during the period.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had cut short his London visit after he concluded his visit to the United States (US). The PM reviewed the quake-hit areas and addressed the affectees in different districts. Nawaz berated KP administration for inadequate measures as the affectees would be facing severe cold very soon.
