Attock: By-election in PP-16 today
By-polls in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-16 (Attock) will be held today (Tuesday).
ATTOCK (Dunya News) - By-election for PP-16 in Attock will be held today (Tuesday). The seat fell vacant after Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada was martyred in a suicide bomb attack in Attock on August 16.
There is one-to-one contest between Shuja Khanzada’s son and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Jahangir Khanzada and independent candidate Dr Naeem Awan. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Naeem Awan belongs to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) but his refused to award ticket to him.
All arrangements have been finalized for today’s elections. The number of registered voters in PP-16 constituency is 131,608. A total number of 137 polling stations have been set up for today’s election out of which 36 have been declared sensitive.
