Nasir Khan Janjua handed over the stick to Flag Lieutenant General Amir Riaz at farewell ceremony

QUETTA: (Dunya News) – Lieutenant General Nasir Khan Janjua on Saturday handed over the command stick, as well as the command, of the Headquarters Southern Command to Flag Lieutenant General Amir Riaz, reported Dunya News.

According to the statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department, Lt. Gen. Nasir Khan Janjua said while addressing the farewell ceremony that there was a wide gulf between Pakistan army and various communities when he took charge of the Southern Command. He said that there was a need to fill this gap and things have improved a lot due to this policy in the province.

Janjua said that there is a great environment of peace, brotherhood and tolerance in the province today and said that he felt satisfied for being successful in carrying out the tasks required of him.

Nasir Khan Janjua had taken charge of the Southern Command on August 30, 2013. The farewell ceremony was attended by Governor, Chief Minister Balochistan and other civil-military officials.
