Multan blast was remote-controlled, confirms RPO

There were contradictory statements regarding nature of the explosion.

MULTAN (Web Desk) – Regional Police Officer (RPO) Tariq Masood Yasin on Monday confirmed that yesterday’s blast near Vehari Chowk was remote-controlled.

He said that further details will be provided after finalization of the report.

Earlier, there were contradictory statements regarding nature of the explosion. The law enforcement personnel reported that the incident appeared to be a suicide attack.

No group has claimed responsibility of the incident so far. 

The blast occurred when a motorcycle hit an auto rickshaw on the city s Vehari Road. At least 11 people died and more than 50 sustained injuries in the incident.

The injured are being treated at Nishtar Hospital. The doctor said that several people were discharged after their wounds were dressed.
