North Waziristan sees Independence Day celebrations after long time

Operation Zarb-e-Azb's commander hoisted the flag

MIR ALI (Dunya News) – North Waziristan s tehsil on Friday has seen Independence Day celebrations after a long time in Mir Ali Scouts Camp.

A ceremony was organised in Mir Ali where Operation Zarb-e-Azb’s commander Major General Nouman Mehmood hoisted the flag. The returning tribal elders and Pakistan Army soldiers presented traditional dance in the ceremony.

Separately in Multan, the district administration organised a leading ceremony of the city in Qilla Kehna Qasim Bagh.

A huge number of people took part in the celebrations. Police contingent paid salute to the flag while children, dressed in green and white made merry.

In Dera Ismail Khan, provincial minister Ali Ameen sparked celebrations by hoisting a flag in District Council Ground. Commissioner Zakir Hussain, DC Nisar Ahmed Khan, District Police Officer (DPO) Sadiq Baloch, different political leaders and others were present in the gathering.

People participated in August 14 celebrations in Jhang with national enthusiam. A ceremony was conducted in Sabzazar of District Council. DCO Nadir Chattha, DPO Zeeshan Asghar took part in the celebrations and hoisted national flag.

Another ceremony was organised by Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) in Mandi Bahauddin.
