Latif Akbar continued his budget speech despite uproar from opposition benches

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government presented 68 billion rupees tax-free budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016 on Monday. Opposition members protested throughout Provincial Finance Minister Latif Akbar’s budget speech, reported Dunya News.

Budget session of Provincial Assembly of AJK was chaired by Shaheen Kausar Dar where Provincial Finance Minister Latif Akbar presented 68 billion rupees budget.

11 billion 500 million rupees have been reserved for development projects while 56 billion 500 million has been allocated to non-developmental projects.

1 billion 100 million has been allocated to education, 340 million to health 4 billion 700 million for highways and public works ,1 billion 310 million for energy sector, 262 million for agriculture, 50 million for civil defence, 150 million for development institutions, 5 million for envoirnment, 400 million for fisheries and forests, 179 million for industry and trading, 2.5 million for transport, 120 million for Information Technology, 40 million for social welfare, 10 million on Public Relations while 200 million have been reserved for public health.

110 million have been earmarked for housing of migrants while 140 million each have been reserved for sports and heritage.

The income for fiscal year 2015-2016 for AJK includes 800 million from royalties of Mangla Dam, 13 billion from taxes of Kashmir Council while 16 billion 750 million has been obtained from federal taxes.
