Negotiations fail between KP govt, tripartite opposition alliance
KP government should resign & elections should be held under interim government, said Mian Iftikhar
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Negotiations between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and tri-party alliance of opposition parties failed on Tuesday as opposition parties announce protest from Wednesday. Mian Iftikhar has said that the protest against the alleged rigging in local body elections will be a peaceful one, reported Dunya News on Tuesday.
Staying true to their stance, opposition parties have announced shutter-down strike.
Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar has said that KP government should resign and elections should be held under interim government.
Refusing to accept All Parties Conference’s (APC) decision, Mian Iftikhar said that a peaceful protest will be launched against the alleged rigging which may go on for months.
Head of government committee Anayatullah said that political connections will be kept with tripartite alliance. APC may called again if need, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that leaders of Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) boycotted the APC held under CM KP Pervaiz Khattak.
