Army to be deployed during Gilgit-Baltistan elections
Pakistan army will be deployed in 24 electoral constituencies.
GILGIT-BALTISTAN (Dunya News) – Pakistan army will be deployed in 24 electoral constituencies during Gilgit-Baltistan s legislative assembly elections, Dunya News reported on Monday.
While talking to Dunya News, election commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Justice (retd.) Syed Muhammad Tahir Ali Shah said that district administration has deployed eight units of Pakistan Army comprising of 5500 officials who will perform their duties from June 4 to June 15.
He also stated that district magisterate will convey special orders to the army in which presiding officers’ will have powers inside the polling station and the army will have control of the area outside the polling station.
