The SHOs have put forth three demands before the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala

DASKA (Dunya News) – As many as 27 Station House Officers (SHOs) have refused to perform duties as protest against the transfer of former District Police Officer (DPO) Shahzad Asif following the Daska incident that claimed lives of two lawyers.

The SHOs have put forth at least three demands before the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala.

The SHOs have demanded the cancellation of transfer order of the DPO. They said that justice should be done with SHO Shahzad Warraich. The third demand put forth by the officers is that the lawyers who damaged the state properties and entered violent protests should be arrested as Warraich has been arrested.

RPO Waqas Nazir called on Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and informed him about the demands. Sanaullah will chair a key meeting today to discuss the matter.

Senior police officials and government representatives will participate in the meeting.
