LAHORE (Web Desk) – With lawyers  protests increasing in intensity across the province, infuriated lawyers tried to break into Punjab Assembly building on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

Rangers personnel are present inside the building to prevent lawyers from entering.

Meanwhile, protesting lawyers torched the security shade in front of PA gate. They also toppled a police vehicle on Mall Road.

Situation in the province deteriorated on Monday when at least two lawyers including Rana Abbas, president of the Daska Bar Association, were killed in clashes with police.

The lawyers alleged that station house officer (SHO) Shahzad Warraich opened fire on the protesting lawyers. As the news of the killings spread, lawyers took to the streets in different districts of Punjab and protested against the police brutality.

In a joint meeting held at the Lahore High Court, the legal fraternity rejected Punjab government s decision for judicial inquiry into the incident and demanded that  summary trial  of the accused should be conducted.

Funeral prayers in absentia for Daska incident victims were offered in the LHC. Chief Justice Manzoor Malik, senior judges, lawyers, opposition leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and Awami Tehreek president Dr Rahiq Abbasi attended the funeral prayers.
