Phone taping case: SC summons secret agency official
Phone calls of 5594 people were taped: Deputy Attorney General Sajid Bhatti
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan sent summon notice to secret agency official on Friday in phone taping case. Supreme Court’s 3-member bench, Chaired by Justice Saqib Nisar, heard the case.
Deputy Attorney General Sajid Bhatti submitted a report which stated that the phone calls of 5594 people were taped. Depurty Attorney General said that Inter-services Intelligence (ISI) did not co-operate when asked to submit report about phone taping.
Court commented that the secret agency has installed spying equipments in people’s beds and sofas, court raised the question that with whose permission ISI records phone calls of people. Court demanded ISI to show No Objection Certificate (NOC) of taping people’s calls.
