Pakistan will give a befitting response to any aggression against Saudi Arabia, said Nawaz Sharif

LONDON: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Tuesday said that Pakistan will not allow anything hurt Saudi Arabia’s security. He said that Pakistan would give a befitting response to any aggression against Saudi Arabia, reported Dunya News.

In an interview to Saudi Arabian newspaper, PM Nawaz said that his Saudi Arabia visit was extremely successful. He said that he met Saudi king Shah Salman and discussed Yemen situation in detail with him. “We shall strongly respond to any aggression against Saudi Arabia”, he said. He, however, made it clear that Pakistan will act in the Yemen conflict in accordance with United Nations (UN) resolutions.

Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan stood firm with Saudi Arabia. “We strongly condemn forceful ousting of Mansoor Hadi’s constitutional government”, he said. He said that there was no confusion in the Middle East countries about the parliamentary resolution.

Commending Pakistan army’s performance in the Operation Zarb-e-Zab and Operation Khyber, PM said that 90% of the terrorists’ infrastructure in tribal areas has been destroyed by the security forces. He reiterated his resolve to end terrorism from Pakistan, saying that operation will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist from the soil of the country. He said that Pakistani armed forces were ready to face any threat; external or internal.

Holding India responsible for the tensions in the region, Prime Minister said that India unilaterally called the talks off. He said that he saw no hope of restoration of talks with India.

Talking about the energy crisis in Pakistan, PM Nawaz Sharif said that energy shortage damaged Pakistan’s economy. “We are making all out efforts for curbing the energy crisis”, he added.
