Change in Pak-China Economic Corridor unacceptable: Asfand Yar Wali
Govt policy will increase sense of deprivation among the smaller provinces, says ANP leader
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Awami National Party (ANP) head Asfand Yar Wali Khan has on Sunday said that change in Pakistan-China Economic Corridor route is unacceptable. He said that the government policy will increase the sense of deprivation in smaller provinces, reported Dunya News.
Holding a press conference in Peshawar, Asfand Yar Wali said that Chinese president’s Pakistan visit was welcomed but Economic Corridor’s routes are being changed to give advantage to certain areas in the country.
ANP head said that terrorism is the biggest hurdle for economic activities in Pakistan and the biggest victim of this menace FATA is not even mentioned in the plan. “Differences apart, we are ready to side with any political party for the betterment of the province”, he said.
“It’s never too late. Government can now take all political parties into confidence on Pak-China Economic Corridor”, said Asfand. He said that ANP will continue to defend the rights of the province on constitutional, legal and political front unless the old route is restored.
ANP leader said that the party will try to send a delegation to Chinese ambassador in Pakistan and explain the concerns before him.
