Can't betray blood of Model Town martyrs: Tahirul Qadri
PAT workers staged sit-in in Lahore, PAT chief vowed to go the last mile to get justice for martyrs
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that he can never betray the blood of those who were martyred in Model Town incident on June 17 last year. He said that PAT will go the last mile to get justice for its martyrs, Dunya News reported.
Addressing PAT sit-in protest in Lahore on Saturday via video link, Tahirul Qadri said that the inquiry tribunal constituted by Punjab government for Model Town incident had held Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif responsible for the deaths. “Why did Shahbaz Sharif not tender his resignation after tribunal’s report”, he questioned.
Tahirul Qadri announced to go back to High Court as the report given by Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was not being published. “How can we give testimonies before the ‘JIT of the murderers’? We demand Khyber Pakhtunkhawa’s (KP) JIT”, he said. He said that the rulers have made the nation selfish. “Revolutions don’t occur while sitting in homes. Revolutions demand people to come out”, he said.
Dr. Qadri said that only the Pakistan army and PAT were fighting the war on terror. He said that certain quarters were trying to fail the military courts.
