Bannu: 8 policemen, 5 IDPs injured in clash during ration distribution

The clash between police and anrgy IDPs took place at Bannu Sports Complex.

BANNU (Web Desk) – At least thirteen people including eight policemen and five internally displaced person (IDPs) were injured during clash at a ration distribution center in Bannu on Thursday, Dunya News reported.

The ration distribution centre has been set up for the North Waziristan IDPs at Bannu Sports Complex.

A large number of IDPs got agitated due to mismanagement and pelted stones at the administration. The protestors blocked Kohat Road and set fire to sheds installed to protect the IDPs against the scorching sun.

Meanwhile, police resorted to aerial firing and baton-charge to disperse the angry mob.

During clash, thirteen people sustained injuries, who have been shifted to District Headquarter Hospital.

Police have also detained several protestors.
