Thar famine: Another child dies, death toll rises to 54

THARPARKAR/ CHACHRU (Dunya News) – Famine continues to threat humanity in Thar claiming one more live in Umer Kot Civil Hospital on Wednesday mounting the death toll to 54 in a span of 44 days whereas dearth-struck people of Chachru and Dhali continue to migrate.
According to details, two-year old Arbab Rajhar died in Civil Hospital Umer Kot whereas Sindh government has been unable to make adequate arrangements as all the relief initiatives are restricted to Mithi and far flung areas remain devoid of ample assistance as people continue to die of starvation.
Relief activities could be seen in places where media reports the deaths in Mithi Civil Hospital but with no land route to 675 villages neither the media nor the relief teams can reach out to the affectees.
