Youm-e-Ali: Section 144 imposed in Peshawar

Section 144 has been imposed for security reasons on Youm-e-Ali in Peshawar.

Peshawar (Dunya News) – Section 144 has been imposed on Youm-e-Ali in Peshawar on Friday, Dunya News reported.

The country is observing Youm-e-Ali (RA), the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) on July 19. The law enforcement agencies are observing strict security measures to avert any untoward situation in any part of the country.

As per section 144, pillion riding has been banned for security reasons with effect from 12 am tonight till 12 am tomorrow. In a statement issued by Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Zaheer ul Islam, it has been stated that the ban on pillion riding is imposed because of security issues. All the routes to the most prominent Imambargahs of Peshawar have been sealed to control traffic. Many mourning processions will emerge from different imambargahs of Peshawar on Youm-e-Ali. Massive security arrangements will be observed throughout the procession routes.
