North Waziristan: IDPs registration centers established at 3 points

First consignment of aid from the Pakistan Army for the IDPs has been sent forth from Multan.

BANNU (Dunya News) – In the prospect of the problems being faced by the affectees migrating from North Waziristan, three more registration desks have been set up in Bannu. First consignment of aid from the Pakistan Army for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) has been set off from Multan. Thousands of people leaving their settlements in North Waziristan to seek refuge in Bannu are still devoid of the aid and facilities for two days as they have not been registered yet, Dunya News reported.
Three additional registration desks have been put up in various areas of Bannu for the IDPs in order to speed up the registration process for the affectees. IDPs from Mir Ali, Miranshah and Zarmik will be able to get themselves registered at Government Commerce College, Bannu Sugar Mills and Government High School No. 4.
Each registration center comprises of 10 counters. Administration has advised that the counters are being increased. Hand written data is later incorporated in National Data Base and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) database.
According to the administration, no definite amount of the IDPs can be affirmed as there are innumerous amount of migrants. Furthermore, 11 trucks carrying assistance have been dispatched from Multan.
Trucks that have been sent by the Pakistan Army are carrying a 90 ton luggage. The first batch of aid that has been dispatched for the IDPs consist of eatables like flour, pulses, rice, sugar, milk, cooking oil besides cooking utensils, beds, medicines and other necessities of life.
Commander Logistics Multan Corps, Brigadier Liaquat Ali said “It is obligatory to help those who have left their homes for the successful operation against the militants.”
Pakistan Army upon direction of the federal government of Pakistan launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb on 15 June in order to counter the outlawed armed insurgent groups like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), al-Qaeda, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), Afghan Militant factions and others operating in North Waziristan. The Karachi Airport attack claimed by the TTP and IMU, that took place on June 8, instigated the operation. It had been confirmed that the Karachi attack including the attacks on army bases and institutions have all been orchestrated by the same streak of terrorism; hence, the operation Zarb-e-Azb. This operation is intended to continue until the country gets rid of the last militant present in the region.
Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday emphasized that the government will not spare any terrorist elements, adding that operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue until last militant is eliminated.
Talking to the media outside the parliament house, Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif announced that Operation Zarb-e-Azb is determined to ensure the security of Pakistan. He further stated that “the verdict of government of Pakistan in regard to the Mullah Fazalulah has been published in today’s paper.”
Prior to initiating the operation, the government carried out peace negotiations – A dialog process to settle the prevailing issues among the militant groups and the Government of Pakistan. But all went down the lane with the attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on June 8 that took 36 innocent lives and 18 people got injured.
Once launched, the operation is being wholeheartedly supported by all and sundry; Journalists, opinion makers, politicians and the masses alike. The effort by the government has been applauded by the International concerns as well.
