KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Thursday that the whole nation stands by the Pakistan Army on operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists in North Waziristan, Dunya News reported.
In a statement in support of the operation, MQM chief said that Pakistan armed forces’ personnel are offering their lives as sacrifice in the military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ against terrorists in North Waziristan. He said the enemy is equipped with modern weaponry and that our army is defeating them on every front by fighting the war whole-heartedly.
He said that the armed forces need prayers of the whole nation at this point, adding that the army doesn’t need any other reward.
Altaf Hussain said every child, mother, sister and daughter of the nation is with the Pakistan army over the Zarb-e-Azb operation.
He said MQM will hold solidarity rally on July 6 in Karachi and appealed people belonging to all walks of life to fully participate in the solidarity rally.
He urged the participants of the rally to make it clear to the world that Pakistan nation stands by the army over war on terror.

Altaf Hussain had announced last week to hold a ‘historic gathering’ in solidarity with the Pakistan Army fighting the military operation Zarb-e-Azb against the terrorists. He said that all political, religious parties, civil society and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) will be invited.
Addressing Coordination Committee, Altaf Hussain said that Pakistan’s armed forces are fighting the biggest and toughest war of the country’s history, adding that Pakistan army men are sacrificing their lives while bravely fighting for the motherland.
MQM chief directed the Raabta Committee to start preparations for the historic event after abandoning routine activities.
He said the venue and date for the historic event will be announced later.
Operation Zarb-e-Azb:
Pakistan armed forces have launched a military offensive against terrorists in North Waziristan.
The DG ISPR said last month that North Waziristan is last stronghold of the Tehreek-e-Taliban. He confirmed the presence of a large number of Uzbeks and other foreign militants in North Waziristan, saying that they will all be wiped out.
Action is being taken to weaken the enemy, he said, adding that terrorists’ movement was restricted by tightening security at Pak-Afghan border.
