KARACHI (Web Desk) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced that it will observe ‘a day of mourning’ on Wednesday for the killings of Tahirul Qadri's supporters, who have died because of police brutality in Lahore.

MQM Coordination Committee made an appeal to businessmen, industrialists, shop owners and transporters to observe ‘Youm-e-Sog’ to express solidarity with the families of the victims and workers. The commitee has urged them to close their businesses on Wednesday.

MQM has also made an appeal to people across the country not to damage private and public properties on the day of mourning and facilitate departments who carry out essential services such as ambulances and fire brigades.

Rabita Committee condemned the police raid on the Secretariat of Minjah-ul-Quran and brutally torturing workers, including female workers. Eight people have died as a result of police brutality, including two women workers.

Coordination Committee has demanded that the government should take notice of the raid, police torture and deaths and take action against the perpetrators.

The party leaders have expressed their heartfelt sympathies with families of the victims and Chairman of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri.
