Imran be tried under Article 6 of the constitution: Abid Sher Ali

The minister says the PTI chief is trying to create rift between the government and the Army.

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) - Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and his allies should be tried under Article 6 of the constitution as he was trying to create rift between the government and Pakistan Army.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Abid Sher Ali said the PTI government should verify thumb impressions of the voters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

He said some people cannot see Pakistan making progress but no one would be allowed to sabotage the progress, prosperity and peace in the country.

Criticizing PML-Q and Pakistan Awami Tehreek, the minister said that Tahirul Qadri was delivering lectures of revolution in Pakistan but he based himself in Canada.

He blamed Qadri of taking money from former interior minister Rehman Malik during his Islamabad sit-in.

The minister said that PML-Q leaders were involved in corruption while they were in government in Punjab during Musharraf s dictatorial rule.

Abid Sher Ali said that the government would foil all conspiracies against development and progress in the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that PTI chief Imran Khan has been blaming the government for rigging the general elections of May 11 2013. He has been demanding the government to verify votes in four constituencies.

The PTI chief in an exclusive interview to Dunya News in London, the PTI chief vowed to expose vote rigging at any cost.

On the other hand, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) also announced to start their struggle to bring change in the country.

In a joint press conference in London on Saturday, central leadership of the both parties presented a 10-point agenda for bringing reforms and progress in the country.
