Bombardment to continue against those challenging state writ

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A high level meeting headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to deliberate on national security issues took place here on Friday, Dunya News reported.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, Director General (DG) Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Zaheer-ul- Islam and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Prime Minister’s secretary and additional secretary were also present on the occasion.
National security and regional situation was also reviewed in the session. Views were also exchanged on Prime Minister’s visit to India and meeting with Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
Country’s top leadership also discussed disputes among Taliban groups and reviewed Waziristan’s security situation in detail. It was decided in the session to continue bombarding those who do not accept state writ. It was also decided that only surrendering groups will be negotiated with.
It was further agreed that negotiations are possible if situation improves in South Waziristan; however, full force will be used against retaliating groups in North Waziristan. The leadership also agreed to strengthen the intelligence network and make it more effective.
