UTTAR PRADESH (Web Desk) - Several Kashmiri students were beaten up for not chanting slogans against Pakistan in Uttar Pradesh, a state located in Northern India on Monday.

Some Hindu students forced Kashmiri fellows to chant anti-Pakistan slogans in university hostel in Uttar Pradesh.

According to Hindustan Times, "the incident occurred at an apartment block in Sector Pi in Greater Noida that serves as a common hostel for BTech students of various universities in Greater Noida. Six students, all attending private colleges, barged into the Kashmiri students’ room, beat them and forced them to shout slogans against Pakistan."

The Indians thrashed Kashmiri fellows when they refused to chant slogans. Later, around 100 other students came out of the hostel and chanted slogans against the university administration.

One of the students said that they didn’t feel secure in the hostel, adding that the police never help them out.

Meanwhile, the police decided to constitute an investigation team following students’ protest.

According to Indian media, the victim students were shifted to other hostel.

Earlier, a university in Uttar Pradesh expelled as many as 67 Kashmiri students for celebrating Pakistan s victory against India in a thrilling Asia Cup cricket match.

The university initially decided to suspend only the offending students but following a ‘three-tier’ inquiry, it was decided to suspend as many as 67 students because they didn’t reveal the names of the few offenders.

The university rejected the reports of violent clashes between locals and Kashmiris and claimed that the students were dropped at railway station under strict security.
