Missing persons case: SC issues notice to Punjab Forensic Lab
The apex court also seeks report on action against army officers in missing persons' case.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A two-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk heard the missing person’s case on Tuesday.
The apex court sought the report on action against the army officers in missing persons from Balochistan.
The court directed the Ministry of Defense to submit report by May 6 as to what action has been taken against the army officers under the Army Act.
The DNA report of 13 bodies found from a common grave in Khuzdar was also submitted in the court.
Concerned authorities have sought four to five months time to confirm identities of the deceased.
Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk remarked that a balanced DNA report was sought from Punjab Foresic Lab.
Meanwhile, the court summons senior official of Punjab Forensic Lab and adjourned the case hearing till February 6.
