Govt decides action against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in Balochistan

Balochistan chief minister was made in-charge of the operation against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

QUETTA (Dunya News) - The government has finally decided to launch action against militant groups including Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) in Balochistan.

The decision was taken in a meeting, attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Balochistan chief minister, Quetta corps commander, IG (Inspector General) police and IGFC (Frontier Corps).

Balochistan chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch was made in-charge of the operation against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

It is important to mention that the decision to launch operation against militants was taken following an attack on Shias in Mastung that killed 29 pilgrims on Tuesday.

Hazara community ended its sit-in protest after assurances from federal ministers Chaudhry Nisar and Pervez Rasheed on Thursday.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Information Minister Pervez Rasheed reached Quetta on Thursday. After being briefed by CM Baloch about demands of the bereaved families, the federal ministers consoled with Hazara community and assured to do everything in its capacity to chase the perpetrators and bring them in the court of justice.

Federal ministers also said the Hazara community is peaceful and patriot adding the whole nation stands united in solidarity with the community. Chaudhry Nisar said that government has no objection over any demand of Hazara community. Government will avenge the injustices done to the community. Following the government’s assurance, leaders of the Hazara community ended the protest.
